Getting in the Christmas spirit

For the whole of November I saw loads of people really getting in the Christmas spirit and getting all their decorations up and listening to christmas music every day, but, for me it was just too early. Even though I am literally the Christmas queen. I felt like a real bah-humbug, but now I am fully in the Christmas spirit, so if you too are struggling to get the festive feels this year try out a few of my festive tips to kick start your Christmas spirit.

Firstly, I've made my room hella cosy. The Christmas bedding is on, I've got a teeny tiny real Christmas tree on my windowsill with gold glitter on it, and some fairy lights around my bed. It is making me feel super cosy and Christmassy. Also, Christmas pyjamas are a must. I have a fluffy Olaf pair that I got from Primark literally years ago that I wear to death and I was so excited when I found these updated versions in Primark this year. They are so fluffy and so cosy and well...who doesn't love olaf?!

I was so ready for some glitter on my nails. I love an accent nail and I love the faded glitter effect. This is the first time I've got acrylics and I am obsessed. Every time I look at my hands I feel all festive and sparkly, yay!

Chuck on the most Christmassy jumper you can find. This one is from Tesco and is actually a men's jumper but I think it is so funny and hilariously over the top Christmas without having flashing lights in (seriously why do jumpers have lights these days?!) I felt super festive in this today!

Finally, get that Christmas tree up! We don't usually put our tree up until the 13th of December. Yeah I know, I know it seems very late but we have the tradition of putting it up 12 days before Christmas. But, this year was the first year that me and mum (and Dan) went to our local Christmas tree farm and picked out our own real tree. As you can see he's a bit deformed and disabled and one of his branches grows upwards not outwards and his left side doesn't grow outwards so he looks very skinny but he is unique. We've also named him Horris (is it weird to name a Christmas tree?) Anyway, we had Michael Buble on in the car and it was snowing and it was magical.

How do you get in the Christmas spirit?

  1. Absolutely love the Olaf pyjamas! I'm totally the same with Christmas decorations in November; I'm the biggest fan of Christmas, but Christmas is for December - although I do put my decorations up a little earlier than you; it's lovely to have traditions though! x
