I love lighting my favourite candle, it instantly lifts my mood if I'm feeling a bit down and makes my room smell incredible. Lifting my mood has been a key aspect of my life over the last few months and if lighting a candle improves my mindset even a tiny little bit then that's great.
I'm trying really hard to look after my skin and hair which also help me to feel better about myself. My skin is freaking out at the moment because I'm eating so much crap so I'm really trying to get back into a proper skincare routine. I've also recently bleached the ends of my hair again and so I'm looking after that as best as I can too.
It is important not to deprive yourself of the little things that make you happy. If you're having a crappy mental health day, do whatever it takes to elevate your mood even a tiny bit. If that's crawling into bed do that, if it's doing some colouring or having a bath, do that too! If it is something completely random, don't feel silly about the tiny little things that make you happy. If you're going through a hard time, make sure you're looking after yourself too. Don't let yourself go too much, don't lose yourself too much, try and keep on the straight and narrow. If you find yourself falling off the path, get people who support you to steer you back in the right direction. Looking after yourself is just as important as looking after the situation you are in.
