If you've read my Mental Health and Me post then you will already know that I've struggled badly with my mental health the past few months. I've been trying to incorporate little daily changes and habits into my daily routine to try and lift my mood and keep my mind happy. So these are my current mind happy habits.
If you've heard of the Bullet Journal or use one yourself you will be familiar of the concept of a habit tracker. Basically a list of habits that you want to (or should do) every day and you fill in the box when you have completed them. If you're anything like me and love the satisfaction of ticking something off or colouring something in to say you've done it then you would hugely benefit from a habit tracker. In my head it also makes me more likely to do it but as you can see from my tracker this month I haven't been too great at completing all of them.
My habit tracker has little daily tasks such as brushing my teeth and admittedly I am pretty terrible at doing sometimes because I am sooo lazy. It also has things like going to the gym and drinking 2 litres of water on it as I know I need to do both of these things to lift my mood and improve my mental health. I also need to be better with my skincare because my skin is horrendous at the moment which is definitely contributing to my ill mental health so that's on my tracker too.
Other mind happy habits I have been trying to do is a mood tracker. This helps me see how many down days I've had a month so I can see if any of my habits on my tracker need to change or see if any particular habits tend to give me happier days. This month they haven't really conincided because I haven't been great at keeping up my habits but if I put in more of an effort to do them all in December maybe it will show in my mood tracker. You can completely customise this to any mood that you feel like you experience regularly and you can always add them as you go along!
Finally, to do lists. I am a virgo so naturally I love a good list. I really like having everything I need to do written down on paper. I rarely ever write any lists on my phone because I just love having everything on paper. This really helps my productivity and makes me feel like I am doing something useful which most days I feel pretty useless.
I hope you have found some new mind happy habits that could help your mental health!
